Experience the world-famous wildlife sanctuary and witness the spectacular Great Migration
Discover the Serengeti
The Serengeti National Park, Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its incredible concentration of wildlife and the annual Great Migration. Spanning 14,750 square kilometers, this vast ecosystem offers an unparalleled safari experience.
Home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth - the Great Migration - the Serengeti is where over 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson's gazelles journey in search of fresh grazing and water. This circular migration is a true wonder of the natural world.

Wildlife Paradise
The Serengeti is home to the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) and countless other species. The park boasts the largest population of lions in Africa, along with significant numbers of leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas.
The vast plains are dotted with acacia trees and kopjes (rocky outcrops), creating the iconic African landscape that has captivated travelers for generations. These diverse habitats support an incredible variety of wildlife.
Beyond the famous migration, the Serengeti offers year-round wildlife viewing opportunities, with resident game including giraffes, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and over 500 bird species.
The Great Migration
The Great Migration is a continuous movement of vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle following the rains in search of fresh pastures. This circular journey takes the herds through the Serengeti ecosystem and into Kenya's Maasai Mara, covering over 1,800 miles annually.
December - March
The herds gather in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu area for calving season. Over 500,000 calves are born within a 2-3 week period.

April - May
The herds begin moving northward through the central Serengeti, following the rains and fresh grass. This is also the rainy season.

June - July
The migration reaches the western corridor and northern Serengeti, where dramatic river crossings begin. Crocodiles await in the Grumeti River.

August - November
The herds cross into Kenya's Maasai Mara before returning south through eastern Serengeti as the short rains begin, completing the cycle.
